Amir Marsalis Jones (January 23, 2013- February 8, 2013)
Founder/CEO Jasmine experienced infant loss with her first born son in 2013. Upon losing Amir, Jasmine experienced a whirlwind of emotions, including abandonment, grief, depression and anxiety. Jasmine later learned when she got pregnant with her second born son, that Black women were 3 times more likely to experience maternal death than that of their white counterparts. Black babies were also 3 times more likely to die than white babies. To combat this high statistic rate pertaining to black birthing persons, Jasmine became Doula Jas to help birthing person’s understand their full pregnancy journey and feel empowered, safe & protected during labor in delivery.
